Bio

Alvin Dean Kilmer 1936 - 2014 Early Life: Alvin was born on the Lazy K Diamond Ranch in a two room tar paper house on July 7, 1936, near Lusk, Wyoming, to Clarence Everett and Ella Long Kilmer, the youngest of their four children. Alvin was educated at Lusk Elementary, Lusk High School, class of 1954, and University of Wyoming, class of 1960, graduating with honors. Life's Work | Service | Interests: On October 12, 1961, Alvin married Mattie Jean Kilmer in Lund, Nevada. They are the parents of five children: Michael Dean, Todd Kogan, Robert Everett, Christopher Ted and Tiffani Fay. He completed his graduate studies at Brigham Young University graduating cum-laude in 1976 with a master's degree in agribusiness. Alvin worked for the University of Nevada-Reno, University of Montana, and University of California-Davis as an extension agent. He spent many years working with the youth in the 4-H program. He also owned and operated his own alfalfa hay and dairy operation in Lund, Nevada. In 1976, he went to work for First Security Bank as the agricultural representative and assistant vice president and retired in 1998. After retirement he and his wife operated the Heritage House Bed & Breakfast in Manti, Utah. Alvin spent his free time with family and friends camping, hunting, fishing, and just enjoying the outdoors. His family was the most important thing in life to him and he loved to spend his time with his 16 grandkids and three great-grandkids. Alvin Dean Kilmer, 78, died December 23, 2014, in Salt Lake City, Utah, with his family by his side. Survived By: His wife of 53 years, brothers: Everett and Robert; sister, Marie Henthorne; and his children: Michael, Todd (Miriam), Robert (CoyAnn), Christopher (Karen), and Tiffani (Richard); 16 grandkids and three great-grandkids.
