Bio
Leroy Harry Wuensche, 80, died Friday Sept. 5, 2014, at home in the presence of his family. Services were held Tuesday Sept. 9, at St Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. Internment was at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Mr. Wuensche was born Aug.26, 1934, in Thorndale to Leonard and Frieda (Limmer) Wuensche. On Oct. 2, 1955, he married Shirley Biar. Together they enjoyed 60 years of farming, ranching, and custom hay bailing in the Thorndale/Thrall area. Mr. Wuensche was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He served on the board of Directors for Milam County Farm Bureau for 10 years. He enjoyed selling Garst seed to area farmers for 20 years. He was an associate member of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Dept. since its inception. Mr. Wuensche also served the Thrall Cooperative Grain Co. as a member of the Board of Directors and had been President for over a decade. In 2011 he was chosen Farmer of the Year by the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Wuensche was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Charles Wuensche; and a brother-in-law Jerry Fisher. Survivors are his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Karlen Watson and husband Larry, Debbie Cepak and husband Bubba, Dena Ebeling and husband Norman; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Freddie, Bobby and Leonard, and a sister Evelyn Felfe and also numerous nieces and nephews.
