Anna Jeannette Tarpley (b 7 Apr 1853) in Grenada, Yalabusha Co., MS Married first, James P. Smith, and had two children, Willie Hayden Smith (b 1873) and James Bell Smith (also b. 1873; twins ?). Married second, Walter Wheeler (b. Dec 1830, in Bowling Green, Warren Co./Butler Co., KY; m. 25 Oct 1877 in Collin Co., TX). They had ten children. Wheeler, age 71, residing at 1111 N. Oklahoma, died Wednesday evening in a local hospital. Survivors: one son, W.H. Smith, city, four daughters, Mrs. James Marlyn and Mrs. _.C. Barnhart of City, Mrs. J.A. Stevenson, Brookfield, Mo., and Mrs. F.L. Rouse, Corsican, Kan. Arrangements later by The Hahns. 11/9/1928 Deaths & Funerals (Friday) Services for Mrs. Anna J. Wheeler, 74, 1114 N. Oklahoma, who died Wednesday, will be conducted from the Hahn funeral home Friday at 2 p.m. by Rev. E.C. Mobley. Interment, Fairlawn. The body will lie in state at the family residence from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday.
