Born in Worms, Berezan, Odessa, South Russia. Karl Trautman was born at Worms, Russia, on December 7, 1860, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Trautman April 26, 1946, at 7:00 a.m., at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 19 days. He entered in Holy wedlock with Caroline Zoller in 1880, and to this union were born 7 daughters and 4 sons. They emigrated to this country in 1887, and located their home in Sutton, Nebraska, for two years after which they moved to the farm where they lived for 34 years. In 1923 they returned to Sutton, Nebr. His wife and one daughter preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn, Mrs. Alex Bauer, Mrs. Henry Trautman, Mrs. Adam Ochsner of Sutton; Charlie, of Harvard; Edward of Denver, Colo.; Jacob of Aurora; William of Hastings; Mrs. Pete Miller, Stockham; Mrs. Alfred Klein, Denver, Colo; Mrs. John C. Griess, Sutton; 23 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Trautman was a faithful and loving father and highly esteemed by all who knew him. He was a life-long member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Grosshans & Kohler Mortuary and 2:30 o'clock at the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. J. Goemmel in charge.
