Bio

Parents: Philipp Jacob Munsch 1805–1858 and Justine Katharine Wenz 1809–1867. Married Peter Trautmann in 1856 in Johannestal, Beresan, Ukraine, Russia. The death of Mrs. Peter Trautman, Sr, occurred at the home of her son, Henry Trautman. Sunday morning, December 14. Mrs. Trautman was afflicted with poor health for about a year. She was confined to her bed eleven weeks by asthma. Mrs. Peter Trautman, the former Christina Munch, was born in Worms, South Russia on Dec. 23, 1837, and died December 14, 1919 at age 82 years, 11 months and 19 days. She was united in wedlock to Peter Trautman in 1856 at Odessa, South Russia. To this union was born twelve children, six boys and six girls, of whom five preceded her in death. She is survived by her aged husband, four sons, and three daughters, Peter Trautman Jr., of Harvard, Fred, Charlie and Henry all of Graftom, Mrs. C. Becker of Stockham, Mrs. John Trautman of Sutton and Mrs. William Klein of Burke, SD; Fifty-eight grandchildren and forty-one great-grandchildren, also survive her. Mr. & Mrs. Peter Trautman came to this country by Sutton, Neb, on September 6, 1874. They moved to Fillmore county the next year. There they resided on their farm until 1904, when they moved to Sutton. On account of failing health they came to live with their son, Henry, on August 14, 1919. The funeral services were conducted at the Second Reformed Church here Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Kirchefer. The body was laid to rest in the Sutton Cemetery.
