Bernard Brace "Speed" Laudenklos was born to his loving parents Charles "Charley" and Della Mae (Snyder) Laudenklos on Wednesday April 12, 1916 at Octavia, Butler County Nebraska. My research found no information on Bernard's childhood or schooling. Bernard was united in marriage to Lola Lincoln of Bayard, Morrill County on Saturday March 22, 1941 in Harrisburg, Banner County, they were blessed over the years of marriage with two children, a daughter and son. Bernard was a veteran of World War II, he served with the US Army as a T SGT in the Pacific Theatre. Bernard lived most of his life in North Bend, Dodge County. Bernard was employed at "Shorty Conoco" for many years, his nickname was "Speed", he was a very good auto mechanic. Bernard was a member of the Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars which he helped organize, American Legion, and a thirty year member of the volunteer fire department. Sadly Bernard passed on Monday November 27, 1978 at the age of 62 years, 7 months, 15 days which does not include his last day, he lived a total of 22,874 days. Bernard's funeral service was held at the Methodist Church on Thursday November 30, 1978 at 2p with the Rev. Anderson Kwankin officiating. The North Bend VFW Post and Morse Bluff American Legion Post conducted the graveside services. Interment was in section n, block 619, plot 4 in the Woodland Cemetery. Bernard's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory. This biography was created as an honor to Bernard by a family friend Loren R. I believe all lives matter, even the lives of those who have passed. Many details are still missing from his life, if you have any more details I will be happy to edit the additional information into this biography.
