Bio
Sallie (Sally?) was my Great Grandfathers FULL sister. They were both born of William C. Claxton's FIRST wife, Lenora Thomas Claxton. In the 1870 census Sallie's parents were in Giles County, Tennessee. By the 1880 census they moved to Limestone County, Alabama. Sallie was born 1875 so I do not know if she was born in Tennessee or Alabama. The obituary below says "Tennessee" but other records say Alabama. ___ Clyde Enterprise October 10, 1947 Mrs. C. H. Harrison Funeral Rites Held Thursday in Clyde Funeral services for Mrs. Charlie S. Harrison, 72, were held at the First Baptist Church here at 3 p.m. Thursday with Rev. D. O. Reid of Abilene officiating. Burial was in the Clyde Cemetery under direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Mrs. Harrison, a resident of Callahan County since 1927 died at her home here at 1 a.m. Wednesday following a two year illness. She was born on July 25, 1875, in Tennessee and came to Jones County with her family in 1907. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include the husband, tow daughters, Mrs. Robert Britton and Mrs. Albert Chandler of Dallas; two sons, Melvin Harrison of Abilene and Marvin Harrison of Clyde; four brothers, Will, Hugh and George Claxton all of Abilene and Till Claxton of Ovalo; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Walker of Abilene and Mrs. Carrie Carver, Jackson, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. * * * * The card of thanks in the same paper listed her husband and children and "Louise and children".
