+W.C. Claxton was my Great Great Grandfather. His middle name MIGHT be Calvin. Not sure yet. +++Abilene Daily Reporter, page 4, Jan 21, 1923 edition+++ January 20, 1923 W.C. Claxton Dies. William C. Claxton, 72 years old, resident of this section for many years died in this city at 1317 Beech Street at 2 o'clock Saturday morning. Mr. Claxton was born in Tennessee and prior to his residence in this city was a farmer near here. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Round Mound Cemetery, burial being made there. ___ William's grave marker says " W.C. Claxton 1851-1923" William C. Claxton first married Lenora Thomas in Limestone County, Alabama on November 7, 1869. Lenora died in child birth of William E. Claxton (April 11, 1878) William's second marriage was to Ellen Fields prior to 1880 Census. Ellen is buried next to him. Her gravestone says "Mrs. W.C. Claxton. 1847-1928" __ W.C. Claxton's parents were Wilson Claxton and Nancy J. Frasure of Tennessee. His GRANDparents were Solomon Claxton and Clara "Clarissa" Lisenby of North Carolina, and I think his Great Grandfather's name was John Claxton.
