Gerik, a former Ennis resident, will be celebrated Monday in St. John’s Catholic Church here with the Rev. James Thomas as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery here. Rosary for Mrs. Gerik, who died at her home in Lancaster Saturday after a long illness, was recited here Sunday. Mrs. Gerik was born in Ennis and had lived in Lancaster since 1953. She was formerly employed at the Borden Company in Dallas. She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church and of the SPJST Lodge in Dallas. Survivors include her husband; a son, Lawrence E. Sonka of Dallas; a daughter, Miss Betty Jane Sonka of Dallas; her mother, Mrs. John Zaidle of Dallas; four brothers, George, Willie, and Adolph Zaidle of Dallas and Eddie Zaidle of Fort Worth; and two sisters, Mrs. Ann Anderson and Mrs. Victoria Shaver of Dallas.
