Bio
Orville Orton died at the age of 38 near the Rifle fish pond, in Garfield, Colorado of carbon monoxide poisoning. He was born in Higbee, MO and moved to Meeker in 1944 and then to Rifle in 1956. He was an auto mechanic for Adolph Stampel. Orville was married to Charlotte Linderman in 1945. Other survivors include: five Children, Gary Lee, Linda Susan, Kathryn Ann, Mickel Allen, and Robert Eugene of Meeker; one child from a former marriage, Kenneth Roy of St Louis, Mo. His father, George Nichols Orton of Cedar Rapids, IA; four brothers, George of Delevan, IL, James of Cedar Rapids, IA and Robert and Jerry of Higbee, MO; six sisters, Evelyn Westfall of Higbee, MO, Dorothy Blaise, Betty, and Marjorie, all of Cedar Rapids, IA, Nora and Dora of Tulsa, OK. His mother, Alma preceded him in death in 1946 along with 2 infant brothers (Harry and Henry) in 1927 and another brother Jerry in 1957.
