Bio
Belleville Telescope June 23, 2005 Bertha Ashton Bertha Ashton, daughter of Joseph Edward and Antonio Marie Shindler Kasha, was born on April 18, 1915, near Lost Springs; and died on June 16, 2005, at Houston, T X . She graduated from Agenda High School. She was united in marriage to Keith N. Ashton and to this union two sons were born. After retirement, they lived in Salina and she attended the St. Mary's Catholic Church. She returned to Belleville and was a member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church and was active in Altar Society. She was also active in EMU. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers; one sister; grandson, Kent Ashton; and great- granddaughter, Marisa Plumlee. She is survived by her sons, Kirk Ashton of Santa Fe. T X , and Craig Ashton of Belleville; four granddaughters; four great- grandchildren; sisters, Bea Cannon of Wichita, and Almina Maier of Ft. Collins, C O . Services were held June 22 at the St. Edwards Catholic Church, Belleville, with Reverend Ralph Aschenbrenner officiating. Interment was in the Belleville Cemetery.
