Bio

Daughter of George and Anna (Ermis) Koliba. Anna and her husband were a longtime farming family and they were the owners of Sundeen Motel which was located on the corner of South Staples St. and Lexington Blvd. She and Ben were instrumental in the formation of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The first masses were held in their family home. Anna moved to Weslaco in 1972 to be near her daughter. She was survived by her daughter, grandsons, and two sisters; Josephine Janota of Henderson, Nevada and Albina Powers of Shiner, Texas. (Corpus Christi Caller-Times, Texas, January 04, 2004)
