Moody Edwin Edwards Jr., 78, of Robinson, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012, in Waco. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with the Rev. Carry Killough and the Rev. David Cozart officiating. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Moody Edwin was born in West, Texas, to the late Moody E. and Dovie (Cox) Edwards. He attended schools in West. On November 27, 1964 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Mercer in Robinson. Moody was a supervisor for TXU Energy for over 28 years. He also served 30 years with the McLennan County Sheriff Department and two years with the Waco Police Department. Moody was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Robinson. He enjoyed doing security work, taking walks, traveling, going to the coast, and visiting with family and friends. Moody is preceded in death by brothers, James Dwain Edwards and Tommy Edwards. Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Dorothy, of Robinson; sons, Brian Edwards and wife, Jennifer, of Northfield, MN, and Patrick Edwards and wife, Veronica, of Waco; grandson, Bennett Weston Edwards; step-grandson, Blake Holmes; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
