Fort Bend Herald, March 26, 2015: A Funeral Mass for Velasta Mussil Miller, 101, of Rosenberg, TX, is set for 10 AM Friday, March 27, 2015, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1416 George Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with Father Bill Bartniski officiating. Burial will follow in Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX. Visitation will be 5 - 7:00 PM Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. She was born Velasta Lillian Mussil on October 1, 1913, in Granger, TX, to Dr. Anton Carl Mussil, Sr. and Marie Mokry Mussil. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, TX, the Catholic Daughters of America, and the KJZT Society. Velasta received her pharmaceutical degree at the University of Texas at Austin, and she was a member of the Pharmacy Alumni Association. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin Miller; sisters, Betty Smith and Lollie Kendrick; brothers, Theodore Mussil, Dr. Julius Mussil, Dr. William Mussil, Anton C. Mussil, Jr. and Mabry L. Mussil. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Arnold Edward Petter. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Ann Mussil; nieces, Betty Mussil and Mary Mussil Tyo and husband, Allen; nephews, Kenneth Smith and wife, Jacqueline, and Antoine Smith and wife, Shirley; and numerous cousins and friends.
