Bio

Frances was born in Nebraska to Josef and Marie Hraban. On some census records, her parents were listed as being born in Austria (Bohemia)--others, following WWI, in Czechoslovokia. In 1910, the Hrabans farming in Richardson Township, Butler County, Nebraska. The 1910 US Census lists: Joseph V. Hraban, 48, head, farmer, imm. Bohemia-Austria 1888, speaks English Marie A. Hraban, 48, wife, imm. Bohemia-Austria 1889, speaks Bohemian Vacler D. Hraban, 22, son, imm. Bohemia-Austria 1889, speaks English, farm worker Frances K. Hraban, 18, dau, b. NE Josephine Hraban, 16, dau, b. NE Joseph Hraban, 14, son, b. NE Anna Hraban, 12, dau, b. NE Rudolph Hraban, 10, son, b. NE Frances married John Joseph Kadavy, a Nebraska farmer with Bohemian ties. By 1920, they had been blessed with three children, and were farming in Richardson Township, Butler County, Nebraska. The 1920 US Census lists: John A. Kadavy, 30, farmer, b. NE, raising grain and livestock Frances Kadavy, 28, wife, b. NE William Kadavy, 5, son, b. NE John Kadavy, 2, son, b. NE Magdaline Kadavy,2, daughter, b. NE Charles Klement,54, hired man, born in Bohemia By 1953, the family were living in Omaha.He was still working at age 63, but now as a laborer. Frances kept the home. SonJohn Joseph was working as a laborer for Swift's meat packing plant in Omaha, Nebraska. Magdalene was working as a wrapper in the Safeway Store. They were 36 years old, and sharing a household with their parents at 4107 S. 28th St. in Omaha, Nebraska. That year, father John A. Kadavy (63) was a laborer at Bradford-Kenney in Omaha. Her husband died in 1958. Frances passed away in 1986, at the age of 94.
