Herald Coaster, April 25, 1971: Paul Frank Demel, 72, of Needville, died Thursday in Polly Ryon Hospital. Demel was born in Freyburg, Texas, and had been a long-time resident of Needville. He was a barber. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Rosa Demel of Needville; son, Edgar M. Demel of Houston; daughter, Mrs. Clarence Hackstedt of Needville; sisters, Mrs. Frank Kasprzik of San Antonio, Mrs. A.B. Christ of Rosenberg, and Mrs. Arthur Kahlich of Slaton; brothers, Rudolph and Norbert of Schulenburg, Leo of San Antonio, Alfred of Needville, and Alex Demel of Richmond. Rosary was recited Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Triska Chapel in Needville. Services were scheduled to be held Saturday at 10:15 a.m. from the Triska Chapel, with mass at St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Rev. Ludos Angelle officiating.
