Herald Coaster, November 12, 2001: Hilda J. Dobrava, 92, passed away Nov. 20, 2001. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, with a rosary following at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., FM 2218 at Highway 59 in Rosenberg. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10 am. Wednesday, Nov 14, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, with the Rev. Dan Warden as celebrant. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. She was born Nov. 25, 1908 in Wied to Emil and Otilia Satsky. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Charles Jezek; her husband, Lad V. Dobrava; her daughter, Magdalene J. Kucherka; her granddaughter, Rene Dobrava; her brothers, Victor and Louis Satsky, and Edwin and Arnold Jezek; three stepsisters and two stepbrothers. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy D. Christ and her husband, Clarence, of Texas City; a son, Larry J. Dobrava and his wife, Karen, of Rosenberg; a son-in-law, Stanley J. Kucherka Jr. of Rosenberg; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a step-sister, Della Batla. Hilda was a homemaker and had retired from the L.C.I.S.D. Food Service Department. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the K.J.Z.T. #77. The family requests that memorial donations be made in Hilda's memory to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Vision 2011 Fund.
