Clarence Golus, 73, of..., died Thursday at a local hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Donald O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be ..at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home... Mr. Golus was born Jan. 12, 1915 at Loup City to Frank and Katherine Plebanek Golus. He received his education at Loup city and also at St. Paul's Business College. He married Doris Norseen on April 19, 1939 at Loup City and the couple lived in Loup City and later Ord. The couple moved to Grand Island in 1941. Mr. Golus joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945. Mr. Golus returned to Grand Island and began working for Red Rooster. He retired in 1978. Mr. Golus was a member of St. Mary's, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 378, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Bob (Ellen) Shuman of Grand Island; three grandchildren; five brothers, Hubert, Leonard and Frank, all of Ord, Jerome of Englewood, Colo., and Felix of Wichita Falls, Texas; and three sisters, Bernice Wadas of Ord, Dorothy Levinson of Grand Island, and Evelyn Kaldowski of Auburn, Calif.
