Herald Coaster, April 17, 1998: Funeral services for Janie Jakubik, 77, of Rosenberg, will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Father Dan Warden will officiate the services, with Monsignor Roberg Barzyk assisting. Visitation will begin on Friday, April 17, at 4 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. (FM 2218 and Hwy. 59) in Rosenberg. A rosary service will be held on Friday, April 17, at 7 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home. Mrs. Jakubik was born on July 10, 1920 in Hallettsville to John P. Hrncir and Emilia Sciba. She passed away on April 15, 1998 in Rosenberg. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Catholic Daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Walter Jakubik; her parents, John and Emilia Hrncir; and a sister, Anita Jakubik. She is survived by her sons, Walter William Jakubik and his wife, Laura, of Canyon Lake, and Thomas Paul Jakubik and his wife, Galyn, of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Tim Jakubik of Thompsons, Gina Jakubik of Rosenberg, Josh Jakubik of Rosenberg, and Zachary Jakubik of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Margaret Humpola of Rosenberg and Emelia (Mickey) Sebesta of Rosenberg; brothers, Leo Hrncir and his wife, Alma, of Weimar, Otto Hrncir and his wife, Frances, of Columbia Lakes, Edwin Hrncir and his wife, Iris Lee, of Richmond, Hilmer Hrncir and his wife, Ruth, of Rosenberg, and Guss Hrncir and his wife, Vinita, of Quitaque. Pallbearers are John T. Jakubik, Jim Jakubik, Jay Fullen, Robert Hrncir, Hal Hrncir, and David Hrncir. For those wishing, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church "Keep the Vision Alive" or Holy Rosary Library Fund.
