A Funeral Mass for Edwin "Tac" Hrncir, 86, of Richmond, will be held at l0:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg with Father Bill Bartniski celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 27 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Edwin was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served 64 years. He was Grand Knight of Council 2801 in Rosenberg on two occasions and served repeatedly as recruitment chairman, trustee, and retention chairman. He also served as District Deputy 1986-1989 and as Texas State Warden 1989-1991. He served as the 4th degree Master of the First District 1977-1980. His hobby was grafting pecan trees & grafted many pecan trees in Fort Bend County. He also participated in the pecan shows with the Extension Service. He also was learning to graft citrus trees. He worked for HL&P Co. for 36 years as a Lineman. He also served in the Army from 1942-1943. Dad loved hunting, fishing, and all sports, especially the Astros. Edwin was born April 8, 1924 in Halletsville, Texas to John Hrncir and Emilie Sciba Hrncir. He passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010 in Richmond. He is preceded in death by his wife, Iris Lee Russell Hrncir; parents, John and Emilie Hrncir; sisters, Anita Jakubik and Janie Jakubik; and brother, Otto Hrncir. Edwin is survived by his 3 daughters, Judy Zela and husband, Eugene, Janice Hrncir and Ginger Orsak; grandchildren, James Fullen and wife, Kristin, Jason Hardin and wife, Tara, Kris Hardin and wife, Kelly, Amy Armstrong and husband, James, Kyle Orsak and Keith Orsak and wife, Amanda; great grandchildren, Ben and Jacob Fullen, Koleman and Karley Hardin, Emma and Alex Sorrels, Luke and Ashton Hardin, and Aiden Armstrong; great great grandchild, Jaymi Sorrels; brothers, Leo Hrncir, Hilmer Hrncir and Guss Hrncir and wife, Vinita; sisters, Emilie "Mickey" Sebesta and Margaret Humpola; along with other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be James Fullen, Jason Hardin, Kris Hardin, James Armstrong, Kyle Orsak and Keith Orsak. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary or MDA, for ALS research. Special caregivers: Ruthie Stredick, Patricia Thompson and Charlotte Rhemann. Physicians: Dr. Bhagwat Patel, Dr. Stanley H. Appel and all the physicians with Methodist Neurological Institute.
