Obituary Courtesy of the Yukon Review Jan. 31, 2015 page 11 Rudolph J. (Rudy) Ruzicka, 84, peacefully passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, surrounded by his family. Rudy was born February 6, 1930 near Yukon, OK to Frank and Anna Ruzicka. He graduated from Yukon High School in 1948 and married his wife of nearly 62 years, Lucille (Zaloudik), on June 1, 1953. They had two children, a daughter, Nancy and a son, David and resided on the family farm northwest of Yukon. Rudy was a farmer his entire adult life, and served on the board of Mid-Continent Farmers Coop for several years. A simple man, what you saw was what you got, and he wasn't one to beat around the bush. From his red farm implements, to his red Chevy pick-up, to his red cap, his lopsided grin, and the ability to speak while barely moving his lips, he worked very hard tending his cattle and crops and instilled the importance of hard work, dedication, and a love of the land in his daughter. He thought the world of his wife, Lucy, and loved her cooking so much that food prepared by others just didn't measure up. Rudy was very proud of his daughter, son-in-law, Danny, and granddaughter Jessica. Rudy was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon. He was preceded in death by his son, David, his parents, three of his sisters, Georgia Ruzicka, Mary Gelnar, and Rose Hrdy, and his three brothers, George, Frank, Antone. Survivors include his wife, Lucy; Daughter Nancy and son-in-law Danny Osterman; granddaughter, Jessica Osterman; sisters, Josephine Dolzeal, Frances Kouba, Bess Grossman, and Anna Bales; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. A wake service and rosary were held at the Smith-Turner chapel on Thursday evening, January 29, 2015, and a mass of Christian burial was held on Friday morning at St. John's Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon. Rudy was laid to rest at Frisco Cemetery. He touched many lived and will be greatly missed.
