Herald Coaster, June 6, 1965: Theodore A. Mensik, Sr., 54, a Rosenberg city councilman, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday following an apparent heart attack. He was serving his first term as a member of the council. Funeral services will be held from Triska Funeral Home Chapel at 9:45 a.m. Monday, June 7, followed by Requiem Mass at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10 a.m., with Msgr. J.J. Tydlacka and Rev. Jessie Linam officiating. Mensik was manager of the K. Woolens store in Rosenberg. He was born in Ammannsville on Sept. 3, 1910, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mensik. In 1933, he married Miss Annie Cernosek in Ammannsville, and in 1945 they moved to Rosenberg. He was a member of the Rosenberg Knights of Columbus Council 2801 and a member of the K.J.T. Society. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Annie Mensik of Rosenberg; two sons, Leonard Mensik and Theodore Mensik Jr., both of Rosenberg; five grandchildren; seven brothers, John Mensik and Sidney Mensik of Rosenberg, Matt Mensik of Needville, Jerome Mensik of Weimar, and Theophil Mensik, Sil Mensik, and Andrew Mensik of Schulenburg; five sisters, Mrs. Judith Petter and Mrs. Vlasta Pokluda of Rosenberg, Mrs. Wilma Vacek and Mrs. Eleanor Kloesel of Weimar, and Mrs. Mary Bartels of Needville. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Interment will be in the East Garden of Gethsemane.
