Reba Mae Kirkpatrick, daughter of Albert Rice and Mae (Boles) Kirkpatrick, was born on December 21, 1920, in Greeley County, in western Kansas, and entered into eternal rest on December 27, 2018, at the age of 98 years and six days. Reba's mother died 12 days after she was born, and Reba lived the first six weeks of her life in a sod hut, being cared for by a neighbor, until her grandparents were able to travel to take her to their home. She was raised by her grandparents, Wesley and Bertha Boles, on a farm near Grand River, Iowa. She called them Pop and Mom. She graduated from Grand River High School in 1938. Shortly after graduation, Reba married Walter David Lamb, and they lived in Osceola, Iowa. Reba worked at J C Penney, the Engineer's Office at the Clarke County Courthouse, and retired from Clarke Electric Co-Op. For many years, she raised a big garden and canned the bounty. Her house plants, especially the African violets, thrived under her care. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing many different card games, especially Pitch and Cribbage, and traveling. Reba visited all 50 states, and also traveled to Mexico, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, England, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland. Her greatest joy of all was being with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 2001, son Victor in 2017, brothers Harold, Albert Claire, and Shawn Kirkpatrick, and sister Lois Greene Barbour.
