Bio
Richard Charles Kurtz, age 52, of Edna, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2003. He was born on December 16, 1950, in Yoakum, Texas, to Edwin and Janie Vinklarek Kurtz. He was an Instrumentation Fitter and member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna. Survivors: Wife, Kathy Kurtz of Edna; son, Jeremy Kurtz of Victoria; daughter, Melissa Kurtz Braunholz of Edna; brothers, Paul Kurtz of Placedo, Larry Kurtz of Victoria, James Kurtz of Point Comfort, and Randy Kurtz of Inez; sister, Johana Kurtz of Yoakum; and grandchildren, Nicholas Long and Jared Braunholz. Preceded in death by father. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 20, 2003, in Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 21, 2003, in St. Agnes Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Msgr. Michael O'Shaughnessy officiating. Interment will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Yoakum. Funeral under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home, Edna, (361) 782-2221.
