Priscilla was born Jan 17, 1862 in Scotch Hill, Farmington Twp., Clarion Co., Pa. She was a daughter of James W. Simpson, born in Scotland and Rosanna Elliott, born in Clarion Co., Pa. She was a widow who had been married to James R. Beatty, deceased. Priscilla died, Jan. 19, 1939 at home at 527 Wood St., Clarion, Pa. of brochial pneumonia. She was buried in the Clarion Cemetery on July 21, 1939. Informant was Mrs. Irene Wolf of 527 Wood St., Clarion. She was born at Scotch Hill, Clarion county, January 17, 1862, a daughter of James W. and Rosanne Simpson. In June 1890 she married James R Beatty, who died in 1908. The deceased, who was a member of the Methodist church, had been a resident of Clarion for the past 43 years. Surviving are the following children: Turney V. Beatty, William W. Beatty, Clarion; James R. Beatty, Latrobe; Mrs. Irene B. Wolff, Clarion; Mrs. Lenore B. Jones, East Brady and one sister, Mrs. Elva S. Mills, Kane. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday at the family home with Dr. Daniel A. Platt officiating. Interment was in the Clarion cemetery. The Clarion Democrat (PA), Thu, Jul 27, 1939, p 7. The death of Mrs. Priscilla Simpson (James R.) Beatty occurred on Wednesday, July 19 at 5:00 a.m. after a six weeks illness at her home on Wood street, Clarion. She was born on January 17, 1862 at Scotch Hill, the daughter of James W. and Rosanne Simpson. In June 1890 she was united in marriage with James R. Beatty, who died thirty-one years ago. She had been a resident of Clarion for the past 43 years and during that time was a member of the Methodist church. Two daughters and three sons survive her: Mrs. J. E. Wolff, Turner V. Beatty, and William W. Beatty, Clarion; Mrs. Roy D. Jones, East Brady; James R. Beatty of Latrobe. One sister, Mrs. S. M. Mills of Kane, also survives.
