Bio
Christine was the daughter of Joe R. and Marie Marek. She lived in the West area all of her life. On January 7, 1936, she married Cyrill Svrcek in West. Christine enjoyed gardening and cooking, baking pies and kolaches for fundraisers and was very family orientated. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joys of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption, the Altar Society, KJST Society #11, KJT Society #31 and SPJST Lodge #6. She was a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 and she was also one of the original directors of West Fraternal Auditorium. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 20, 2004; parents; brothers, Edward Marek and Joseph Marek; sister, Mary Pavlovsky; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Survivors include her sons, Cyrill B. Svrcek and wife, Unett, of Avalon, Raymond Svrcek and wife, Betty, of DeSoto and Robert J. Svrcek and Jeanne Chase, of Lancaster; daughters, Lil Pavlas and husband, Charlie, of Abbott, Marie Snider and husband, Dean, of Elm Mott and Edith Brem and husband, Herbert, of West; brothers, John Marek and wife, Ann, of Ennis and Cy Marek and wife, Mary Jo, of Dallas; sisters, Sophie Young, of Waco and Lois Kallus and husband, Raymond, of West; sister-in-law, Virginia Marek, of West; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
