Bio

Alice was born in Clarion Co., Pa. on Mar 2, 1863 the daughter of Samuel Kifer and Elizabeth Dunkle, both born in Pa. She was widowed, her deceased husband being Charles Ruffner. She died on July 20, 1947 at her home at 1240 Monteray St., Pittsburgh, Pa. of a cerebral hemorrhage. She was buried in the United Cemetery, Allegheny Co. on July 23, 1947. The informant for the death certificate was a daughter, Mrs. Zella Graney of the same address. Her father was Abraham Kifer, her mother's name was correct. ***** Mrs. Alice E. Ruffner, widow of Charles Ruffner, died Sunday in her home, 1240 Monterey St., North Side. Mrs. Ruffner was born in Clarion County, Pa., and had resided on the North Side the greater part of her life. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Zella Graney and Mrs. Freda White; three sons, Bertram [Burton} S., Charles E. and William C. Ruffner; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Punkal of Cleveland, O., and Mrs. Amanda Reid, Clarion, Pa.; a brother John Kiefer, also of Clarion, Pa.; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in Aeberli’s Chapel, East North Avew. At Sandusky St. Burial will be in United Cemeteries.
