Charlie L. Hight, 85, of Corner died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at Northport Medical Center. Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m., today, July 18, 2000, in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel with burial in the New Horizon Memorial Gardens in Dora. Dr. Mike S. Hight and Rev. Doug Tate officiated. New Horizon Memorial Funeral of Dora directed. He was a retired as a landscape foreman from the city of Birmingham after 15 years of service. He was a member of the Sumiton United Methodist Church, a member of the Joe Mac Hunting Club in Sumter County and a U.S. Army and Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Irene Hight of Corner; three daughters, Rebecca Connelly of Graysville, Sue Quick and her husband, Frank of Birmingham and Martha Mitchell and her husband, Alton of Corner; two sons, John L. Hight and his wife, Ronda of Sumiton and Dr. Mike S. Hight and his fiancee, Lynn Hall of Altanta, Ga.; two sisters, Louise Russell of Sumiton and Pauline Fowler of Arab; one brother, T.J. Hight of Sumiton; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. BM2 US NAVY WORLD WAR II
