Bio

E. Dwane Honea, 86, of Kipling Community, LA, passed from this life on Monday, November 2, 2014, in DeRidder, LA. Dwane was born on August 12, 1928, at Kipling Community, LA where he lived all of his life. He was an avid fisherman and sunset photographer. He was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church and loved his family and loved gardening. Dwane was formerly employed at the DeRidder Ice Plant and Westvaco where he was a power operator. He is survived his wife of married 65 years, of the Kipling Community, LA; two sons and daughters-in-law; one daughter of Dry Creek, LA; five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Dwane is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Honea and mother, Verna Harris; grandsons, Gary “Mann” Honea, David Alan Honea and Arnold Wade Dartez. Funeral Service were held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Dry Creek Baptist Church, Rev. Charlie Bailey, Rev. John Gray, Rev. Dore Langley and Tod Burnaman officiated. Burial followed at Hopewell Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA.
