Dorothy Marie "Dottie" Freestone Roper 1931 - 2014 Dorothy was born December 21, 1931, in Vernal, Utah, to Emery Lind and Ida Vilate Crouse Freestone. She loved to decorate and garden; she especially loved her roses and flowers. She would get up early in the morning and work until late at night to make her house beautiful. She and Bernie enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona where she continued her love of decorating and gardening. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlework and gave her children many of her beautiful afghans and quilts. She loved her morning walks. She loved to travel and planned many family vacations that brought her family closer. She made sure her family had dinner every night together. She embraced technology and loved to e-mail and text. On top of her home duties, Dottie helped build her husband's plumbing business in Boulder, Colorado, and Provo, Utah. She taught her children to work both in and out of the house. She was a driving force for her children to develop musical talents and be educated. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her wish was to be able to see all seven of her babies all at the same age at the same time to be able to compare them. Dottie served in many callings in the LDS Church; she loved the Relief Society and served as president and a counselor multiple times. She was an ordinance worker for 20 years in the Provo Utah LDS Temple and the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. She indexed and arbitrated over 100,000 names for FamilySearch. Dorothy Marie Freestone Roper died August 11, 2014. Survived by her children: Linda (Gary), Glade (Glena), Alene (Rick), Nancy (Mike), Arlynn and Jared ; 31 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; her sister, Doris; and brothers, Ernest and Dallas.
