McKinney (TX) Daily Courier Gazette, April 7, 1951, p. 8 Mrs. Stella Myrtle Hastings of Seagoville, a sister-in-law of Mrs Walter Cockrell of this city passed away at 4:50 a.m. Saturday at City County Hospital where she had been a patient the past several days. Mrs. Hastings, who was born February 4, 1895, in Collin County, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jake Lewis. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Mrs. Hastings was one of the three nurses to graduate in the first class of the local hospital's school of nursing. Her survivors include her husband, A B. Hastings of Seagoville; two sons, D. W. Hastings of Refugio and A. B. Hastings Jr. of Dallas; six brothers.... one sister ..... and two grandchildren. Funeral services are to be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Seagoville Baptist church....
