Bio

Juanita Smith, of Kaufman, passed away peacefully May 9, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 17, 1929 in Hamilton Co., TX to Daniel And Myrtle Annie (Burcham) Tranthum, both of whom preceded her in death along with her children: Leroy and Johnny Smith and Annita Blevins; siblings: Charlsey, Joyce, Linda and Roy. Juanita was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and her constant devotion to her family enabled her to always be around them to help them. Her family of 9 children and life on their farm kept her busy but very happy in making sure everyone was provided for. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church where she also served faithfully. Juanita loved animals and she had a way of taking care of them so that each one became a wonderful addition to the family. She will be remembered for the legacy that she passes on to each of her loved ones and the memories they will each cherish. Juanita is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Elvis Smith of Kaufman; children: Danny Smith and wife, Brenda, of Terrell, Sue Tarrant and husband, Bobby of LaRue, Elvis Glenn Smith and wife Virginia of Kaufman, Dianna Ochoa and husband, Daniel, of Tyler, Deborah Smith and husband, Harold, of Sulphur Springs, Jessie Price and husband, Bobby, of Mabank; sister, Shirley and husband, Jimmy, of Round Rock as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren who will miss her greatly.
