Martha "Emma" Piles was the daughter of John Piles and Abigail McBride Piles. She was single and lived with her sister, Mary "Mollie" Piles Gatewood, and her family until her death. She was a half or step sister to my grandmother, Annie Jane Simms Bateman. Jean Wallace Simms Family History
