Bio
Julius was the seventh of twelve children born to Lloyd Dexter 'Deak' and Kate (McCullough) Simmons. He married Veda Almira (Crawford) in 1924 and they had one daughter: Meda Faye. Obituary SIMMONS , JULIUS CLINTON The Hamilton Herald-News 02/07/1991 Julius Clinton Simmons, 86, of Hamilton, died Wednesday, January 30, 1991, in the Hamilton General Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 2 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Sullenger and George Tolbert officiating. Burial was in the Pottsville Public Cemetery. Mr. Simmons was born March 4, 1904, in Pottsville to Lloyd Dexter and Kate McCullough Simmons. He was a lifetime farmer and rancher in the Pottsville area and a member of the Park Heights Church of Christ. On November 16, 1924, he married Veda Almira Crawford. She preceded him in death on May 17, 1990. He was also preceded in death by six sisters and one brother. Survivors include three sisters, Irene Huckabee, and Odessa Adams of Lubbock, and Gracie Morgan of Arlington; one daughter Meda Faye McPherson of Grand Prairie; three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ed McPherson, Wayne McPherson, Marvin Crawford, Don McPherson, Scott McPherson, Herschel McPherson, Michael McPherson, and Danny Joe Crawford.
