George Frank Spaniel, Sr., 86, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014, in Telico, Texas. Visitation will be from 8 to 9 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014, with the Rosary at 7:30 p.m., in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. George was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late John L. and Mary (Krajca) Spaniel. He was reared in Ennis and graduated from St. John Nepomucene Catholic High School. George married Margaret Angeline Slovak on August 31 1948 and they made their home in Ennis and Telico. He served his country proudly in the United States Army Air Corp serving state side. George was employed by T & P Railway, Mobil Oil and Republic National Bank/Bank of America, Dallas, retiring in 1985. He and his wife, Margaret, then became co-owners of Amelia Ann Florist of Ennis for many years. George was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and KJT. He enjoyed fishing, spending time outside and especially spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Spaniel; sister, Olga Krysinski; granddaughter, Hailey Huddle; and great-granddaughter, Shealyn Margaret Hayes. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Margaret S. Spaniel; daughters: Margaret Catherine Satsky and husband, George, Mary Ann Trojacek and husband, Marvin, Ramona Elizabeth Jakubik and husband, Ernest, Cynthia Jo Brazil, Judith Gail Huddle and husband, Jeff, Susan Diane Tekell and husband, Michael, Jeannie Renee Spaniel and Karleen Marie Henry and husband, Jon Pat; sons: George Frank Spaniel, Jr. and wife, Maureen, Johnny Raymond Spaniel and wife, Judy, and Thomas Joseph Spaniel and wife, Vicki; 31 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Mary S. Zabojnik and Bernice S. Gee; brother, Johnny L. Spaniel; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. K15
