Dolores Ann Gerik, 82, of Waco, died Monday, April 14, 2014, in Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., Tuesday, at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, followed by visitation until 8 p.m. Dolores was born in West, Texas, to the late Frank and Rose (Milberger) Karlik. She attended St. Mary's School and was a 1950 graduate of West High School. On November 8, 1950, she was united in marriage to Edwin E. Gerik in West. Dolores was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. She was also a member of the K.J.Z.T. St. Ludmilla Society #11. Dolores enjoyed arranging flowers, watching the redbirds, watching HGTV and her soap operas. She was preceded in death by her husband on September 9, 2004; and her daughter, Phyllis Gerik. Survivors include granddaughters, Melanie Fordyce and husband, Jerry of Houston and Leslie Nelson and husband, Mark of Austin; great grandchildren, Emma Leslie and James Edwin "Jed" Fordyce; a twin sister, Rosalie Barak and husband, Gerald; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
