On July 31, 2013, Frank C. Brecheen saddled up to meet his Heavenly Father. Born to Lem and Genie Brecheen in Lamar County on August 2, 1922, Frank, the second of nine children, loved his family and many friends. Frank died Wednesday from a lengthy illness at Medical Center of Plano. Frank was baptized a Christian in the Baptist Church during his youth. A World War II veteran, Frank served in the US Navy as a gunner in the Pacific. On June 9, 1947 he married Evelyn Marek. He was a self-employed contractor and rancher. Those that knew Frank knew of his love for horses. He was a member of the Hella Temple Black Horse Patrol for more than 40 years where he served as captain 5 times. He was quick to tell you he rode in four US Presidential Inauguration Parades, including Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush. He was a mason for 61 years. He rode tallest in the saddle talking about his two girls, Sandy (Andy) and (Pammy). After losing his wife Evelyn in 1983, he met and married Wyvonne Robertson on May 31, 1997. Frank is survived by his wife, Wyvonne, daughters Sandy Money and husband Wayne of Greenville, and Pam Isom and husband John of Nevada; grandchildren Stephanie Lewis, Curtis, Jeff, Kevin Money, Amanda Moss, and 3 great grandchildren, sisters Sallie Hendrix, Carolyn Bennett, Lucille Ford, several nieces and nephews, and Wyvonne's children Clay and Alan Robertson, and Shelly McClincick. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn, infant daughter Rebecca, brothers Harold and Duane Brecheen, sisters Louise Brazeal, Bernie Rowland, and Ann Whitten and Wyvonne's son Ray Robertson. Special thanks go to his loving caregivers Edalama and Luce. Pallbearers will be members on the Hella Temple Black Horse Patrol.
