********************************************** MRS. EDWARD STAVA CALLED TO REST FRIDAY Plattsmouth Farm Woman Died Yesterday Afternoon at 3 O'clock ______________________________________ Following a two-year period of ill health Mrs. Edward Stava, 46, succumbed at St. Catherine's hospital, Omaha, at 3 p.m. Friday, November 6, 1940. Mrs Stava had been a patient at the hospital for the past two months, and during that time she has had ten blood transfusions -- all, seemingly, proved fruitless. Some time ago Mrs. Stava underwent a severe operation in St. Louis, Missouri and since the operation she has failed rapidly. Augusta Jensen was born to Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus (Anna Rasmussen) Jensen on October 30, 1894 in Salix, Woodbury county, Iowa. She was one of a family of eight children born to Mr. and Mrs Jensen. On June 22, 1916, Augusta was married to Edward Stava at Pender, Thurston county, Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Stava have lived in Plattsmouth for twenty years, coming here in 1920. Both have been prominent farm residents. In addition to her husband she leaves to mourn her death seven children; Joseph, Anna, John, Jean, Mary Rose, Ralph and Martin, all at home; six brothers, Lee Jensen, Lincoln; Ove Jensen, Omaha; Iler Jensen, Deadwood, South Dakota; Howard Jensen, Thurston, Nebraska; Luther Jensen, Columbus, Ohio; Roy Jensen, Deadwood, South Dakota; three sisters, Mrs Clair Kelso, Omaha; Mrs Marvin Bonevright, Lincoln; and Mrs. Walter Newell, Pender, Nebraska. Mrs. Stava's body was taken to the Horton Funeral Home, Omaha where it will lie in state until Monday morning November 11, 1940, when funeral services will be conducted at 9 o'clock at the St. John's Catholic church. Monsignor George Agius will officiate. Interment will take place in the Holy Sepulchre cemetery, Plattsmouth.
