Bio

Rosary for Kathy Makovy, 43, of Lubbock was recited at 7:30 p.m. February 28 in Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home chapel with Monsignor James A. Comiskey, pastor of Christ the King Cathedral, officiating. Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. February 29 in Christ the King Cathedral with the same officiant. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park under direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home. She died February 26, 1988 at her home. Justice of the Peace L.J. Blalack ruled natural causes in the death. She was born in Bellmead and moved from Amarillo to Lubbock in 1970. She graduated from St. Anthony’s Nursing School in 1965 and had worked as a registered nurse at Amarillo’s St. Anthony’s Hospital. She was a member of Christ the King Cathedral. Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Makovy of Lubbock; and two sisters, Debbie Schuknecht and Betty Powers, both of Lubbock. Pallbearers were Ronnie Kershen, Shoan Schuknecht, James Garza, Donnie Macha, S.J. Neyland and Paul Berlenga.
