Mrs. Linnie M. Askey, born on August 31, 1895 in Obion County, Tennessee, departed on May 24, 1977 in Hayti, Missouri. She was 81 years, 8 months, and 23 days of age. She was the daughter of the late David D. and Maggie Cathey. She was a housewife, married to Richard Askey, whom preceded her in death. She leaves the following to mourn her passing; one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Howard of Holcomb, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Conway of Obion, Tennessee; two grand-nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 26, 1977, in the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti, Missouri, with Rev. Bernel Wells of Hayti, Mo. officiating. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti, Mo. Pallbearers were Virgil Parker, George Babb, Steven Rhodes, Rodger Berry, Herman Mott and Jessie Terrett. John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti, Mo. in charge.
