Edward D. Matous, 84, of Temple, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, in a Cedar Park Living Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday March 10, 2014, at St. Luke Catholic Church with Father James Ekeocha officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Edward was born in Seaton, Texas, to the late William Matous and Henrietta Cabla Matous. He lived in the Temple area all of his life. Edward married Beatrice Cleo Green on May 24, 1952. He worked for American Desk Manufacturing for 47 years. Edward was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and SPJST Lodge #47, The Golden Age Club and he served in the National Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice, on September 22, 2012. Survivors include sons, Gaylon Matous and his wife, Monica, of Cedar Park, and Brad Matous and his wife, Karen, of Parker, Colorado; daughters, Cynthia Barnes and her husband, Glenn, of Arlington, and Cheryl Meyer and her husband, Mark, of Temple; grandchildren: Trey Matous, Morgan, Mason and Mackezie Matous, of Colorado, Allison Conyngham, Taylor Barnes, and Ashton and Jake Meyer; great-grandchildren, Harper and Taylor Barnes, of Arlington; sister, Norma Alford, of Temple; and many other relatives and friends.
