Bio

Funeral services were slated today for Avit Jeansonne who died yesterday at the age of 98 leaving 107 direct descendants including all 10 of his children. A native of Avoyelles Parish, he would have been 99 years old Oct 1. Rites were slated at 3 p.m. today at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Plaucheville with interment in the church cemetery. Noland Funeral Home at New Roads handled the arrangments. Survivors include eight sons, two daughters, 24 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
