daughter of James Eclet Evans and Maudie Lee Cooper. She married first Orson Raymond Griffin and then Cecil Odell Evans on Jul 23, 1939 FORT WORTH - Tola Fay Evans, 83, a homemaker, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at an Azle hospital. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Eagle Mountain Baptist Church. Burial: Azleland Memorial Park. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home. Tola Fay Evans was born May 28, 1918, in Leonard. She had resided in Tarrant County since 1941. She was a member of Eagle Mountain Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery for many years. Survivors: Husband of 62 years, Cecil Evans of Fort Worth; daughters, Patricia Murray of Carlsbad, N.M., Delores Johnson of Tulsa, Okla., Claudette Ferguson of Newark and Cecilia Smith of Fort Worth; brother, Melvin Ethridge of Arkansas; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
