The Weekly Schuyler Sun Schuyler, Nebraska Nov 1, 1934 North Butler Co Farmer Called by Death Reaper Joseph Lajba, for many years past a resident of the community three miles east of Octavia, died at his home, Monday morning, from the effect of a heart attack. The deceased was a native of Czechoslovakia, and was born January 25, 1874, and came to America in 1877 with his parents, Mr and Mrs John Lajba. He was united in marriage to Anna Sloup, January 16, 1900. Surviving are the wife and three children, Mrs James Hladky of Rogers, Miss Mamie of Lincoln, and Miss Helen at home. Two sisters, Mrs John Homolka of Ulysses, Mrs John Hladky of Abie, and Frank Labja of Octavia, also survive. Funeral services will be conducted from the Abie Catholic church Friday morning, with Rev A Kasny officiating. Interment in SS Peter and Paul's cemetery.
