The Banner Press, August 30, 1984, David City, Butler County, Nebraska, USA Julia L. Kucera, 81, services conducted Saturday morning. Funeral services for Julia L. Kucera, a resident of St. Joseph's Villa, were conducted Saturday morning, Aug. 25 [1984], from St. Mary's Catholic Church, David City. Mrs. Kucera, 81, died Wednesday, Aug 22, at the Butler County Hospital. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Father Dennis Hunt. Mass servers were Chris Kozisek, and grandsons, John and Matt Jatczak and great-grandson, Christopher Kucera. PCCW members attended in a body. Pallbearers were Edward Kucera, Mike Hoeft, Jess Vasina, Douglas Kozisek, Mark Jatczak, grandsons, and Donald Niemann, Jr., great-grandson. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends from Brainard, Bruno, Kearney, Columbus, Omaha, Lincoln, Broken Bow, Fremont, Shelby and Osceola attended the services. Julia L. Kucera, the daughter of Ludvik and Mary Kucera Weverka, was born on a farm near Bruno on May 12, 1903. She attended school Dist. 61 and was an eighth grade graduate. On Aug. 1, 1928, she was united in marriage to Frank E. Kucera at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Brainard. Twelve children were born to this union. She was a Butler County resident all her life. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Mary's Church and the PCCW. She was employed at the egg plant for a number of years. Survivors include one son, Raymond H. Kucera of Brainard; six daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Sally) Kozisek of Fremont, Mrs. Wm. (Evelyn) Birkel and Mrs. Mike (Shirley) Vasina of Columbus, Mrs. Wm. (Gladys) Hoeft of Shelby, Mrs. Lad (RoseMarie) Husak of Bruno and Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Jatczak of Kearney; one brother, Henry Weverka of Bruno; four sisters, Mrs. Agnes Rech, Mrs. Fred (Helen) Kovar and Mrs. Tom (Georgia) Hofbauer of David City and Mrs. James (Martha) Anderly of Valparaiso; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her parents; husband, Frank E. Kucera; four infant children; one daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Adeline) Cemper; one brother, Adolph Weverka of Hillsboro, Ore.; two sisters Mrs. Joseph (Hattie) Samek of David City and Mrs. Donald (Henrietta) Sypal of Omaha; and one grandchild, Jimmie Husak who died in infancy, preceded her in death.
