Thanks to contributor #48796369 Emma Radil, 99, of Ord died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Jim Warner will officiate. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Mrs. Radil was born on Nov. 9, 1899, in Valley County to Anton and Katherine (Pavlicek) Moravecek. She attended Manderson District 31 School. She married Aldrich Janicek. The couple lived two miles north of Burwell, where they farmed and operated a dairy until Mr. Janicek died. Mrs. Radil then spent time in Ord with Rose and Anton Radil. She purchased a home in Burwell. She married Otto Radil, and the couple lived in Ord. Mr. Radil died in 1965, and Mrs. Radil continued to live in Ord. She had lived at the Valley County Nursing Home for the past year and a half. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, baking and raising cattle. Survivors include two sisters, Rose Geneski and Matilda Volf, both of Ord. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Anna Nevrivy, Bessie Penas, Antonia Valla, Mary John and Helen Benben; a half sister, Katherine Cink; and infant twin brothers.
