Bio
Daughter of Josef Pesek and Fratiska Stehno. Born in house #21. Emigrated from Bohemia at age 18 in April 1884 with Sister and Bro-in-law, Frank and Josefa Prochaska (FAGM# 106827121), arriving in NYC on 24 Apr 1884. They came to Omaha, Nebraska and then on to Box Butte County. ORD QUIZ - Pg 1 - TR 18 Apr 1929 MRS. A MORAVACEK PASSES AWAY SUNDAY Monday at her home here, Mrs. Katherine Moravacek passed away at the age of 63 years. She was born in Nova Ves county, Bohemia, October 31, 1865 and came to this country in 1884. On Dec. 27, 188 she was married to Anton Moravacek and they settled on a farm near Marsland, in Dawes County moving to Valley county four years later and settling on a farm twelve miles west of Ord. They moved into town on March 13, this year. Mrs. Moravacek is survived by her husband and eight daughters, Mrs. Anna Nevrivy, Mrs. Bessie Penas, Mrs. Mary John, Mrs. Antonia Valla, Mrs. Emma Janicek, Mrs. Helen Benben, Mrs. Matilda Volf and Mrs. Rose Volf. Two sisters also survive: Mrs. Josephine Prochaska of Lidgerwood, N. D. and Mrs. Antonia Privrle, of Prosea County, Churdina, Bohemia. Sixteen grandchildren are also left to mourn. She was a wonderful wive and mother and a kind neighbor. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Bohemian hall, Rev. B. A. Fillipi of Clarkson being in charge.
