Date of Death - Parish Death Register shows 8/26/1953 with burial on 8/29/1953; Headstone shows 8/23/1953 FYI - regarding Fleming vs. Kozisek for last name -- there was a post on Nebraska Bohemians Facebook page, by Dan Sanley, 5/25/2019 - about William's father - Frank; "pictured here is a Civil War vet gravesite in Columbus. Buried here is a man of mystery as he was born as Frank Kozisek but buried as Frank Fleming (to further complicate the name mystery his gravestone is spelled as Flemming). His children are split with some taking the name Kozisek and others taking Fleming. He had all of his 13 children with his first wife Anna Wanek. Frank was born in Bohemia in 1830 and emigrated to Wisconsin in the early 1860's. He enlisted to serve in the Civil War February, 1864 and served until July, 1865. It was while he was serving in the war that the name change occurred. The story goes that his fellow soldiers had a very difficult time with his Czech name of Kozisek. And so when a soldier with the last name of Fleming was killed, Frank took his name. It was a name that would stay with him for the rest of his life including his move to Nebraska" However - a later post, on the same Facebook page seemed to indicate that Frank had used the Fleming name even before the Civil War....
