Elmer J. Burks, Retired Farmer Dies In Hospital Elmer James Burks, 70, retired farmer of 1518 Johnson street. died at 6:10 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for the last four years. Born January 15, 1888, in Lafayette, he was the son of James and Katherine Morris Burks. His marriage on Feb. 9, 1909, was to Estella Fulmer. Survivors are the wife; two sons and six daughters: Charles,; Griffith, Ind.; William, 213 Co lumbia; Mrs. Ethel Rieken , Mon ticello; Mrs. Mary Todd, 1518 Johnson; Mrs. Gladys Todd, route 3; Mrs. Louise Smith, 1725 North; Mrs. Josephine Robison, Lucerne: Mrs. Margaret Kistler, route 3; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Clara Newgent, Monticello; Mrs. Mar- agaret B o w n e l l, Kalamazoo, Mich.; .Mrs. Florence Moore, Monticello; Mrs. Virginia Toombs and Mrs. Mildred Blake, Ander- son; Wilbur Burks and John Burks, both of Monticello. One daughter. Mrs. Emma Strasser, died June 4, 1957. Friends may call after seven o'clock this evening at the Fisher funeral home. Final rites will be there at 2:30 Tuesday with the Reverend Raymond Skelton officiating. Burial will be in Davis cemetery. LOGANSPORT PHAROS TRIBUNE SUNDAY, JULY 20, 1958
