Bio

Services for Mrs. Rosie Denver Hammond, 72, of Route 6, Lufkin, were scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Gibson Chapel with Rev. Sam Farris and Rev. Bill Lane officiating with interment in the Huntington Cemetery. The body was to lie in state at the Gibson Funeral Home. Mrs Hammond was born in Angelina county October 7, 1891 and died Tuesday morning in a local hospital after a long illness. She had resided in Angelina county of her life and was a member of the Happy Hour Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Louis Johnson of Lufkin; two brothers Davis Forest of Lufkin and Travis Forest of Huntington; One sister Mrs. Lina Sullivan of Lufkin, two granddaughters and six great-grandchildren Gibson Funeral Home, directors.
